Wow, first day of spring 2025! And not a moment too soon, either. This has been a wet
winter. Our farm has had its share of flooding, but thankfully all away from the lavender
plants. They’re not very aware of anything throughout the winter, anyway – they’re in
their dormant stage then, resting until the ground warms up and life starts moving again
with the heat. So far everything’s looking good for a good crop this year.
At the end of this month (March) we’ll have another 2,300 lavender plant plugs coming
from our supplier. Later on, we’ll have (hopefully) at least that many more plugs that we
propagated this winter. We hope to have around 5,000 new plants to put in the ground
this year when all is said and done. Watch us grow!
We’ve also been working hard getting things ready for our first-ever open season this
summer. It’s exciting, nerve-wracking, exhilarating, and crazy-making all at the same
time. Opening a lavender farm to the general public isn’t just a matter of unlocking the
gate and letting people come to the farm shop. There are permits to be obtained;
facilities to be thought through and figured out for everyone’s fun, comfort and safety;
logistics of driving and parking; keeping enough product on hand to satisfy customers;
and the list goes on. Here’s to us having everything covered and offering a great time
for all our visitors!
Stay tuned through our website and our social media for updates on our open hours.
We hope to see you all here. Bring on the fun!
